Keep Moving Forward

As humans we get comfortable where we are. We have a job, a place to stay, and a good group of friends so that’s it right? I’m content. No. God has much more for you! We often think to ourselves that we can’t move upward in our job or even get the job we really want because we don’t have certain credentials. To be honest with you, that doesn’t matter. When you have the favor of God working in your life, there is absolutely nothing that is impossible.

When things seem impossible in the natural, remember that you serve a supernatural God. His favor was with 14 year old David when he defeated Goliath. David wasn’t as big as his brothers and spent his time tending to the sheep in the field. No one expected him to seize the head of this large Philistine. David kept his mind on The Lord. He didn’t listen to the naysayers but gave praise to God in all that he did.

Like David we must know that God knows what He is doing. He has equipped us to do His will. We can be more and go higher! “Surely, Lord, You bless the righteous; You surround them with Your favor as with a shield (Psalm 5:12).” Instead of feeling down about the people that have been gossiping about you, try saying “Thank You Lord for the favor that will cause these people to treat me well.” This may seem a little difficult but let’s take a look at Job.

Job had lost everything. He lost his family, his friends, and his health. He was covered with boils and it looked as if everything was falling apart. Though things seemed to be a horrendous mess, Job gave praise to God. “ You have granted me life and lovingkindness; And Your care has preserved my spirit. (Job 10:12).” Job kept this attitude for 32 more chapters until he was healed and delivered. Take this important lesson from Job: Give praise in your darkest hour. You don’t have to stay where you are. You are surrounded by God’s favor, His grace, and His mercy. “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. (Psalm 23:6).”

Don’t settle where you are. Don’t accept mediocre. God can do anything and will surely bless you much more than you can ever imagine. I pray that you open your heart and allow God to take you higher today. You are his precious child and He wants nothing but the absolute best for you!

He reached down from on high and took hold of me; he drew me out of deep waters. Psalm 18:16
